We are volunteer run not-for-profit offering a range of seasonal and organic produce, non-perishable goods, and locally sourced staple and artisan foods. Join the collective to enjoy high-quality, ecologically conscious shopping for your household.

Ballarat Wholefoods Collective is open every Thursday and Saturday from 9am to 12pm during school terms.

We are conveniently located at Barkly Square in Ballarat East.

OUR STORY

Ballarat Wholefoods Collective has grown from humble beginnings. Starting out as a small group of people running the collective out of a private backyard, BWC quickly evolved into a community boasting hundreds of members. Bursting at the seams, the store moved to the Brown Hill Cricket Club before making its final move to a wonderful permanent home in Barkly Square in Ballarat East.

Ballarat Wholefoods Collective exists and thrives due to the passion and commitment of its community members and their drive to champion produce from local, ethically-minded makers and farmers. Operating as a collective, it relies on its members and their contribution to sustain its ever growing upkeep. Membership has continued to grow and create a vibrant community with a passion for seasonal, local, ethical, and organic whole foods.

MEMBERSHIP

Joining Ballarat Wholefoods Collective gives its members access to a huge range of products that have been sustainably sourced and are local or Australian produced. Providing Australian grown, made and created goods is part of our core philosophy.

All members pay a nominal joining fee to help cover administration and operating costs. This fee is subsequently paid on an annual basis, falling due at the start of each financial year.

Shopping at Ballarat Wholefoods Collective is completely different from your regular supermarket. Here, you bring your own jars, bags, and containers that can be refilled and reused, cutting out the need for disposable plastics and packets. Most products are sold in bulk, by weight and we show you how to do this when you join up.
